FAQs

Are you accepting new clients?

NDIS clients may not be accepted at this time. Please get in touch to discuss your or your participants care. This is in place until Decemeber 2025.

But otherwise yes, we are accepting new clients. Our waiting time is anything from 1-3 weeks.

Where is Kirilee located and how do I make an appointment?

Kirilee practises out of 2 locations - Manly Vale on the Northern Beaches and Lindfield on the North Shore. You are welcome to make an appointment via phone 0451 830 730 or via the contact us page.

When will you get back to me?

Kirilee works part time and will endeavour to reply to all enquiries within 1-2 business days. Free 5 minutes phone consultations are available for all customers to see if we are the right fit for you or your client/loved one.

How often will I need appointments?

This varies greatly with your nutrition, medical and lifestyle needs. Clients with renal disease and other chronic disease typically need 2-3 sessions on average. Clients presenting with disordered eating may need up to 8-12 sessions (frequency may change as you progress through nutrition counselling). Clients with severe eating disorders may need many months of counselling.

What medical conditions do you routinely see?

Renal disease (All stages of CKD, kidney stones, kidney transplant, conservative care, hypertension, pre-eclampsia)

Gastroenterology (coeliac disease, IBS, cancer, IBD, reflux, gastroparesis, gut health, liver disease)

Eating disorders, disordered eating and complex feeding behaviour

Disability (intellectual disability, autism, feeding difficulties and brain injury)

Mental health

Older adults with a special interest in dementia

Do I need a referral from my specialist or GP?

Private clients do not need a referral. Clients wishing to access Medicare rebates will need a referral and GP care plan through their GP.

How much do appointments cost?

How do I access a rebate?

Kirilee is a registered provider with most health funds. On your appointment day you will be provided with a receipt which you can take to your health fund. Medicare rebates are processed on the day of your appointment.

Do you bulk bill?

Kirilee does not bulk bill

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, medicare has extended telehealth services ongoing - days for telehealth are generally Tuesday evenings, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please contact us for further information and availability

 

What are the practice hours?

Lindfield rooms are open every 4 weeks on a Friday morning.  Manly Vale clinics are open Saturday mornings. Home visits are available on request and areas generally covered are the North Shore and Northern Beaches. Please get in touch to see if your postcode is covered.

What specific training have you completed for eating disorders?

Training completed includes motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ACT for trauma, eating disorder training for dietitians, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for eating disorders (e-CBT). As a dietitian of clients with eating disorders, Kirilee receives clinical supervision to ensure continued professionalism in the quality of this complex work. Your sessions may be discussed with her supervisor in a respectful way and all identity is protected.

Information for clients with eating disorder plans

Clients who have an eating disorder care plan can access 20 visits with Kirilee over the calendar year. If you have used an EPC already, these visits will contribute to your 20 (you cannot double dip across both plans). The current rebate is $58.30 and the medicare item code is 82350.

Information for NDIS participants and their representatives

Kirilee has been an NDIS provider for a few years and is experienced with NDIS policies, prescribing, procedures and protocols.  We aim to provide a mobile service, visiting participants in their own home, residential care, school or group home to allow for maximum therapy time. We are currently accepting new NDIS clients with either self managed, agency or plan managed funds.

St Leonards/Mona Vale rooms AND North Ryde rooms are now closed, Kirilee no longer works out of these locations.

Medicare has increased the rebate for item 10954 and 82350 (dietitian appointments) to $58.30 from $55.10.
